Tammy Rae Lamouche is a Cree singer-songwriter, actor, and educator from Whitefish Lake First Nation (Treaty 8 Territory). Her work is rooted in preserving and revitalizing the Cree language through the arts, blending music, theatre, and education. While pursuing her Master of Education in Educational Studies, she continues to perform as Rezzo in the acclaimed Indigenous musical Bear Grease, alongside her growing career as a contemporary R&B/Pop/Soul artist.
A graduate of the University of Alberta with degrees in Native Studies and Education, Tammy Rae brings both cultural knowledge and professional artistry to her practice. Her performances breathe new life into beloved classics with humour, warmth, and cultural meaning, while her original songs weave Cree identity and storytelling into modern, soulful sounds that connect with diverse audiences.
As an educator and language advocate, she is also the author of Naskwahamâtowin, a Cree early-learning resource that introduces children and families to Plains Cree (Y dialect) through nursery rhymes and interactive activities. These works reflect her belief in the power of music and storytelling to nurture language, culture, and community.
